Can't access my FM database from my iPad

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have a database (FM Pro 12) I want to access remotely via FM Server. I watched an online video posted by Wim Decorte on Youtube and followed all the steps, but for some reason I can't open it from my iPad. Like in the video, I was able to open the file in the same computer remotely but not from the iPad. In order to access the database from the iPad, I opened FM Go, tapped on Add Host and typed the IP address that I got in the server. All I get is file not found. Can somebody help. I am sure I am missing something here. Thanks.

Is the file's name set to display in Open Remote?  Does the file have the fmapp privilege bit checked in the Privilege Set attached to the Account you are using to open it?

Steven:

The answer to your questions is yes, but now I realize that there is a firewall. Perhaps that's the reason why I can't have remote access unless the firewall settings are modified. Does this make sense?

NR

Makes complete sense.  Ports 5003 and 16000 for starters should be opened and forward to the internal NAT address of the FileMaker Server machines.
