Security isue with PHP with FMS12

Featured Replies

Our IT security assessment team found critical vulnerabilities with the version of php (5.3.8) we are running and recommend we upgrade to the latest version php 5.5.10.

We are running on Windows 7 Professional with a one-machine deployment. My question is what is the easiest way to update php to the latest version without reinstalling FMS12. When we originally installed FMS12 we let the install take care of loading php.

Are you certain that the new version of PHP is compatible with Server 12?

Also, I would change the OS to a Windows Server OS.

Thanks for the response, Steven.

We also have the option to upgrade to FMS13.  Do you know what the latest version of PHP Filemaker has certified for FMS 13? FMS 12? What are the main advantages of going to Windows Server OS?

Again this topic was started because our IT assessment team are aware of critical security vulnerabilities with PHP 5.3.8 which we need to address. Does suggested environment address this?

Thanks for again for your reply,

Werner

FileMaker Server 13 installs what you need to use PHP including the PHP engine, the FileMaker API for PHP, sample code, and documentation. Use the latest version of PHP that FileMaker, Inc. has certified.

Windows users need PHP 5.3.27

OS X 10.9 users need PHP 5.4.17

OS X 10.8 users need PHP 5.3.15

See http://www.filemaker.com/products/filemaker-server/server-13-specifications.html for additional information.

More on Server OS later.
