June 25, 201411 yr Hi, I wish to add pdf documents stored on the iPad (for instance in 'Dropbox' or 'Documents' apps) from the FMGo 13 into container fields. The 'Insert File' or 'Insert pdf' functions are not working: message on the ipad indicating that no file was found without the possibility to locate the pdf (seems to look for filemaker db files only). Is it possible or impossible? Database running on FMServer 12 and container files stored internal to the DB (not as external files). Thanks in advance!
June 25, 201411 yr From pretty much any other app you can view the PDF and choose to 'Open in...' FileMaker Go... That will copy the PDF into FileMaker Go's documents and from there you can insert it into container fields... For Dropbox, it is also possible to do an 'Insert from URL' into the container field if you have the public DropBox download link... Note you will need the direct Dropbox download URL... E.g. If the public Dropbox link is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xe2wuh47uxob2at/MyFile.pdf ...you can use a script to change the URL to: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/xe2wuh47uxob2at/MyFile.pdf Hope this helps, Sky.
