I am running filemaker server on my Mac just to try it. I now want to stop it but cannot see how to download my database file from the admin console. I can't even find the server in my library on the hard drive

You can't, AFAIK, download the file via Admin Console. If FMS is installed on your machine it should be quite visible in Library. Your file should be located in the Data folder. Sorry, I'm not on my server machine and can't provide the exact path. Someone else likely can.

You need to close the file first before you can download it.

The option to download then becomes available.
