Hi -

I need to run a VBScript located on my computer from a WebDirect section. Is this possible?

One common way of firing OS level commands from FM is the Send Event script step. Unfortunately it's not webdirect compatible.

I think you might be able to leverage a plug in or javascript http://www.soliantconsulting.com/blog/2014/04/getting-started-javascript-and-filemaker

You could also imbed the vbs script inside a text field, export the record with the vbscript in it as a .vbs file and Automatically Open the file it will cause the OS to fire the script.

never done it myself but know its possible

Nope.  The sandboxing that is built in browsers is all about NOT allowing this...  If it would work it would be a huge attack vector.

It is very difficult to find a way to integrate WebDirect and Wacom signature pad so I divided the process into steps:

1.  I must find a way to open the get signature application directly from WebDirect to capture signatures on a Wacom STU 300 signature pad  (Pending)

2.  I develop an application that captures the signature and save the image to the local computer (Ok)

3.  Using the Insert File script step in WebDirect I import the image directly to a container field without user intervention (Ok)

Thank you very much to all for helping me with this challenge.
