wrong totals on a summary field

I've been using fmp for years and I thought I knew it well, but... today I've found that a total summary field doesn't work properly.

This happens with a shared database between 2 windows2000 PCs. The solution has been at work for years without problems but recently I installed win2000 to the "client" one.

It must be something related with file sharing but I don't know how to fix it... I would be grateful if anyone can help

The first thing I would check is to make sure some sort of layout re-formatting did not occur such that a formerly working field was now laying on or extending over a body part.
