I have a database set up in filemaker where one of the text fields is a URL. All of the URL

Yes. You could enter a wild-card character (*) to represent 'one or more characters' prior to typing the final segment of your URL.

Alternatively you could create a calculation field (of result type Text ) which parses the URL field and returns just the final segment of the URL, then search on the calculation field instead of the original URL field. The formula for such a calculation would be along the lines of:

Right(URLfield, Length(URLfield) - Position(URLfield, "/", 1, PatternCount(URLfield, "/")))

This formula simply selects everything after the last occurrence of '/' in your URL field.

If you make the calculation 'stored and indexed', it will speed up the finds.
