Newbies CaraJ Posted September 5, 2002 Newbies Posted September 5, 2002 I am a new user who is having to learn this program really fast. Is it possible to create a cross platform filemaker file. So that a PC user can enter data and a mac user can access and export it. Thank you for your help.
CobaltSky Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 All FileMaker database files are cross-platform. That measn that any user who has a copy of the FileMaker application on her/his workstation will be able to open and use any FileMaker database. If both Mac and Windows machines share a network (and provided the same network protocols are configured in FileMaker on each machine) they will also be able to concurrently share hosted databases in multi-user mode. If you want to create a cross-platform file solution can be used by users who don't have a copy of FileMaker installed, you'll need FileMaker Developer.
