FP6 on OSX stopped loading up

I've been using FileMaker Pro 6 on osx 10.1.5 for a few months but recently its been having problems loading up. On opening the app, it loads up and displays the load dialog but after a few seconds just quits with no error messages. The classic version is working fine (although under classic in osx its very very slow). I've tried reinstalling FileMaker but it didn't help. I haven't come across this before in previous versions of FileMaker or in any other osx applications. Has anyone got any ideas? Its annoying as there are no apparent errors to go on. Thanks in advance for any help.
