snackcakes101 Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 I know this sounds ridiculous, but I am trying to simulate an invoice form from a Word document in FM. I did a report layout. I need a border that will start in the header and extend through the body and footer, about 1" on all sides of the final 8-1/2 x 11 printed document. The only way I could figure this out was to manually draw lines through the parts and around the text, but no matter how far I extend the line it simply will not show up in the footer section. The border stops where the "body" stops. What am I missing? Thanks for any insight!
Lee Smith Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Hi snackcakes101 The only way I could figure this out was to manually draw lines through the parts and around the text, but no matter how far I extend the line it simply will not show up in the footer section. The border stops where the "body" stops. I'm sorry to say, the only way to have the lines show in all three parts is to draw them in each of the parts. Frustrating as it may be, because if you are off by a point in one direction or the other, they will either dissappear or produce a gap between them. Lee
snackcakes101 Posted January 9, 2003 Author Posted January 9, 2003 Ugh, that's what I thought. I have it drawn in all parts but the footer is quite stubborn. I guess I need to keep playing with it until it stops disappearing! Thanks for your help.
BobWeaver Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 You will still have problems if you don't have enough records to fill a page. For a way around this, see the following post: http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB31&Number=52918&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=31&fpart=1 In it, I attached a sample file that takes care of the problem.
