January 20, 200323 yr Newbies I have a client who has a Power Mac G4 Dual Processor with FileMaker 5.0 Server. Their are 11 databases and 10 clients connecting with varying Mac computers and OS'. They are using Retrospect remote to backup up the scheduled backups of the database created by the FileMaker Server schedular. They have an APC battery backup with a USB connection to the computer. The G4 has OS 9.2.2 and X on it. They boot in 9.2.2. The network is 10/100xt ethernet with TCP/IP. In the Control Panel Energy Saver, I have set the sleep mode to NEVER. Situation: Every morning when they come in the database are not accessible from open host - the computer does not show up. They have to reboot the server and open the databases to work. Can you tell me why they are losing connectivity to the host server and the databases? Thank you Michael [email protected]
January 30, 200323 yr Yep, have that happen with a client of mine. Make sure that FM Server is totally shut down before retrospect runs and then have it reboot. There is something in the backup routine that causes it to fall off the network.
