Mac OS X Bundles - packages of files.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am creating a Stand Alone DB in FMD6 for distribution to Mac OS X computers only.

It is a related database with 8 related files.

In OS X you can have bundles, which are bundles of files which are all part of the same program, but you only see one front end icon, meaning you can drag and drop one icon from a CD to your HD and likewise drag it to the trash when you have finished, it also means users don't need to see the mess of files and strange file names associated with your DB.

this is exactly what I want to do, have a single bundle of my DB for general ease of use.

Has anyone encountered this before? Anyone know how to do it?

I have been investigating this for a few days now and I can make it happen in OSX project builder, but only for files that have been built in Project Builder.

There doesn't seem to be a way to take a bunch of FileMaker files and make them into a self contained bundle.

but if anyone knows how to do this, I would be very interested to hear how!

Many thanks in advance for any information
