Newbies M. Doll Posted July 30, 2003 Newbies Posted July 30, 2003 I had enabled "Personal Web Sharing" on my Mac OS X. This reserves port 80 for its use only. FileMaker Pro's Web Companion needs the same port to display its pages. With "Personal Web Sharing" turned off, the display of the web pages works.
EddyB Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Go into FM preferences and go into the setup for web companion. You change the port that FM uses to 591 (reserved by FM) now you can use both Personal Web Sharing and FM Web Companion. When you want to view your Web Sharing pages you enter your IP address e.g: http://10.0.0.1/ If you want to view your FM Web Companion you will need to enter your IP address and port number e.g: http://10.0.0.1:591/ Regards Ed.
