Is there an interactive SQL tool in Filemaker Pro 6 that allows us to write SQL statements (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE)?

Yes. When you choose Import > ODBC, it opens an ODBC ialog and then SQL builder. fairly simple, but i does let you see some of the ODBC metadata while you are building the statement.
