Newbies Ric K Posted February 26, 2004 Newbies Posted February 26, 2004 Anyone know why suddenly my FM 6 for OS X won't open? I've deleted it and reinstalled it from the CD, but still it won't work. In Classic I probably would have trashed the Prefs file, but I'm not sure what to do in OS X. Please help! Thanks, Ric
jonesy17 Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 You could try trashing the preferences ~/Library/Preferences/FileMaker Preferences/FileMaker Pro 6.0 Prefs Make a backup copy first, just in case
Newbies Ric K Posted February 26, 2004 Author Newbies Posted February 26, 2004 Thanks jonesy17, but that didn't work. At least now i know where the prefs are though. Any other ideas?
EddyB Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Have you got the lastest update of FM from their site - v6.0.4 ? Ed.
Newbies Ric K Posted February 26, 2004 Author Newbies Posted February 26, 2004 yes, thanks. It might be worth mentioning that I had a couple of hard crashes on my Powerbook (Pismo) prior to noticing this problem. Now when I try to open FM the icon bounces exactly twice in the Dock before it gives up the ghost. I installed the Classic version and it works fine. Vaughan Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 "It might be worth mentioning that I had a couple of hard crashes on my Powerbook..." Yes, that might have been worth mentioning. I'd proceed by backing up the documents and stuff and reformatting the hard disk, then re-installing the system software and applications...
