Filemaker Pro 6 OS X won't open

Anyone know why suddenly my FM 6 for OS X won't open? I've deleted it and reinstalled it from the CD, but still it won't work. In Classic I probably would have trashed the Prefs file, but I'm not sure what to do in OS X. Please help!

Thanks,

Ric

You could try trashing the preferences smile.gif

~/Library/Preferences/FileMaker Preferences/FileMaker Pro 6.0 Prefs

Make a backup copy first, just in case smile.gif

Thanks jonesy17, but that didn't work. At least now i know where the prefs are though. Any other ideas?

Have you got the lastest update of FM from their site - v6.0.4 ?

yes, thanks.

It might be worth mentioning that I had a couple of hard crashes on my Powerbook (Pismo) prior to noticing this problem. Now when I try to open FM the icon bounces exactly twice in the Dock before it gives up the ghost. I installed the Classic version and it works fine.

Yes, that might have been worth mentioning.

I'd proceed by backing up the documents and stuff and reformatting the hard disk, then re-installing the system software and applications...
