Under the General tab in Filemaker Pro 6 Preferences, whenever I try to click the checkbox for Show - Recently opened files, I get an error telling me that "This command cannot be used by this installation of Filemaker"

Why am I getting this error and is there a fix?

Platform: Windows 95/98
