In the FileMaker Business Tracker, when you set Preferences::gSelectedReport to a report number, the Reports::Preview container field updates with a preview of the selected report.

To see this, click on reports, then click on each of the reports at the left of the screen.

I'm lost. How does this work??

there is a table called Reports with a container of a sample report.

choosing a report from the portal shows the record from the reports table displaying

the sample report.

oh I get it. I thought for some reason that it was showing an actual preview using current data, but I guess it's just a screen shot pasted into a container from when the database was being built - that's why some of the data matches.
