In windows you have the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

Is there a way to disable that through scripting?

If not I'll just have to send some keystrokes to get rid of it using my opening script.

The status bar with the zoom and show/hide status area icons on it? AFAIK there is no way to disable it, however you can use script steps to lock the zoom level and lock the status area.

There is a bar in windows underneath that called the status bar which is present in most windows apps - and can indeed be disabled in filemaker on windows using an option in the view menu.
