Having problems - the user can only access fp5 files by going into the application first - file association does not work - any idea's??

What operating system? And are the files only to be used by one person or multiple persons?

Will's right... it depends upon your OS. As far as I know, Windows only needs the .fp5 file extension... make your exensions visible and see if it has it... if it does, there must be some kind of map you can reset. For MacOS9, the app code is stored in the file itself and no extension is necessary... the app code can be changed w/utilities if necessary. For MacOSX, it kinda does both but the easiest fix is to GET INFO on the file and use the ALWAYS OPEN WITH option to choose what app to always use.
