extract email address from text field

I need to extract email addresses from a text field...There are a lot of extraneous text characters in this field...the only way I can think of is to find any "word" with an @ symbol...any suggestions on how to extract the word to a result text field? I am dealing with anywhere from 400-600 records at a time. Thank you.
