I am making a file using file maker, and No text from the layout screen carries over to the Browse field, and in layout I have to move the buttons and fields around a bit to make the text display. It seems like a horrible bug which is making this program useless in my eyes, How can I make a file with no text on the layout? Please tell me what I'm doing wrong!

You have no data in any of your fields. What you're seeing in Layout Mode is the field names, which aren't going to show in Browse Mode.

I mean my button on top I made has no text on it, and theres no text on the left side showing what each field is

Also I have to Size around everything even in the layout mode to make it show up. which im hoping isnt right

I see no such button. However, all the field labels are visible in Browse Mode on this end.

You do have to set your fields at the desired size since FM isn't a mind reader , but you can duplicate existing fields to make it easier.

I just see no text, I dont understand, I can increase and decrease the sizes of the text labels for the fields and It dosent mater, it flashes quickly when i change it then dissapears, but its still there, I can see it if I move the field around. It seems as if your not having the same problem??

If you goto Vehicle layout there should be a button up top (grey) that says Customer, if you can see it I know its this computer

Ah, okay, I see that button. Are you on Windows or Mac? Have you upgraded to 7.0v2?

I just noticed in the Preview window it looks how it should, but in the browse its all wrong

That might be the problem, Im using Windows XP, and im downloading the v2 upgrade now, thank you I hope this fixes it!

I see the button on the Vehicle layout. (I'm on a Mac, FWIW.) Try making the header part a little taller, maybe?

Sorry, but I don't understand your other problems. Your field label disappears when you resize it? You mean dragging the corner of the text box, or do you mean changing the font size? What flashes? The label?

Have you tried different fonts?

Okay, the update to v2 fixed all of the problems I was having!
