Newbies mackenzie Posted September 8, 2004 Newbies Posted September 8, 2004 This is a complete newbie question, but I cannot find an answer for it anywhere in the help information, the user guide, or online. I have created a new database from scratch, and I cannot figure out how to resize the layout so it only contains the information entered, and not a large white space to the right of the layout that goes on seemingly forever! How does one do something as simple as this? Thanks for your help!
Slobey Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 you can use the adjust windows script step. select resize to fit. If you are using one primary layout, then you can add that script step on your start up script. If you need to navigate through different layouts then you can add the script step to your navigation buttons, ie. go to related record or go to layout. Hope this helps
MoonShadow Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 You didn't indicate what type of layout you want to restrict... With Form, Columnar/List and Table layouts, the bottom scroll will only appear (thus allowing a User to scroll right) if an object is off the screen to the right. So just place all objects within the viewable screen area. The same theory applies to the right-side scroll in Form layouts (for up/down scrolling) but you must also be sure to resize the layout (drag the body upwards until it is within the viewable area). I dislike Users being required to scroll and I eliminate the scroll as much as possible. A layout switch is easier for them.
