Newbies panaber Posted September 14, 2004 Newbies Posted September 14, 2004 Question. I have lots of scripts that I would like to include on some sort of drop down box. For instance, the conference management database that I have has about 10 scripts that print different items. Is there an "If" script that I can create that has a field "conference scripts" and have the 10 scripts as value labels, then if I select one of the value labels it runs that script? Seems like that should work, but when I created the script steps it doesn't work, seems like I may have missed a step. PLEASE HELP any suggestions would be appreciated. Patti
transpower Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Of course, the scripts are displayed in the Scripts menu (if you allow them to be). But if you want further explanation for the end-user, just create a Radio Button layout (with one field) with the print choices; this is, in effect, a menu (depending on the choice, the appropriate script is run). Or: create a menu layout with each of your choices being a button associated with a specific script.
LaRetta Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Hi Patti, you can also use a popup which will hold your script names. When a user selects a script from the popup, it will fire that particular script. An example of this process can be found at Popup Script Menu - NightWing Enterprises. Please fill out your profile (right below your name in the left panel) where the profile link exists. This will help us help you. UPDATE: I just noticed you posted in FM7 section. I view all posts from Active Posts and didn't read the category you posted under, sorry. This demo isn't in FM7 but the principles are the same and can be easily duplicated in 7. If you need the demo in 7 format you can contact NightWing I'm sure; or we will be happy to provide one. LaRetta
