fmsavey Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I have downloaded the latest version hopeing to see improvements to some "querky" behavior that I have been experiencing with earlier revs. So far I see no differences.
Mike G Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I downloaded it but can't install it for some reason. I execute the "setup" and a Windows Installer Dialog appears telling me Incorrect Command Line Parameters.... what's up with this? Any Ideas?
ddinisco Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 The Mac version I downloaded also does not work. It simply appears as an unknown document an Updater folder. No read me instructs, and nothing happens when I double click the 'unknown doc.'
ESpringer Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Download (versiontracker.com) and update went fine here. One difference is that pasting into FileMaker (from another app via the system clipboard) now obeys style info. However, I expected things copied from FileMaker to retain styles via system clipboard for pasting into other apps. No go.
Deep Thought II Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 downloaded from FM website, Win2003 enterprise server, installed fine. make sure u used some programs like FlashGet or NetAnt to get the file, make sure the file u downloaded was not corrupt...
The Shadow Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 The fix list indicates that style is retained when pasting to other apps only if they support RTF. I tried pasting styled text from FM7v3 to TextEdit, and the style is retained.
Newbies sheltieuk Posted October 7, 2004 Newbies Posted October 7, 2004 I was getting error messages from the Windows installer until I disabled the auto protect option in my anti-virus software, Norton in my case, update installed with no problem then. Ray Coles
ESpringer Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 Ah, I couldn't actually get to the fix list myself... someone else pointed out that it was supposed to fix it on copy-from as well. So, now I have to do a copy-paste into word and then another copy-paste in order to get into, say, Eudora (since email still doesn't retain style). Well, the workaround is at least easier than doing a CSS export every time!
