October 19, 200421 yr I know this may be a bit basic for you lot, at least I hope it is, but I've created a whole job logging database and need to simply search down the 10 duplicate fields I have created down the page. 6 columns, but you have to perform your find in every field! I need some way to relate the fields so they input seperately but all search at once. Fields are labeled notes1, notes2 notes3 etc - see attached Please help a novice out, I'm stuck and embarrassed - cant find an answer in the help or on here
October 19, 200421 yr Make a repeating field with one repetition for each of your fields. Then do the seach using the repeating field.
October 21, 200421 yr Author Thanks a lot, I'll give it a try. I feel a bit silly :-/ but you've got to start somewhere I suppose!
October 21, 200421 yr Author BTW I did it, thanks! Is it possible to space the repeating fields out, i.e. have a horizontal keyline between each field, seperating the entries? It all looks a bit bunched up. Can I use a table? this way text entry fields and list fields would line up correctly.
October 21, 200421 yr With repetitive fields you can specify which repetition you wish to show, so they can be placed anywhere on the layout you wish. Just click on the field in layout mode, select Format, Field Format. In the Repetitions box choose show repetition 1 through 1 to select the first, 2 through 2 for the second and so on. You will end up with many fields but you can place them anywhere you wish.
