I know in Mac OS you can print to a PDF, which is really handy... when I try to print to file on windows it exports it in some unknown file format... can anyone clue me into either a readable file format or pdf option?

For windows, you will need to install a pdf writer program such as adobe acrobat or adobe distiller to enable print to pdf option. Or you can buy a plug-in for filemaker that provides that functionality.

It won't work with just a Acrobat Reader? I need a writer??

Yes, you need writer... But rem. that there are many pdf writer programs on the market that are a lot cheaper than Adobe's product
