Hi gang,

I just upgraded my pc and now when I am in my solutions, I get a "Blinking", on certain layouts. It seems to be refreshing at a rapid rate. On some layouts with graphics it can freeze up and blink for a long time. Is this a setting in FM or in Windows? How can I solve this? Any help is greatly appreciated. It's driving me crazy.

Thanks

Some specific version information (FMP and OS) is required.

Hi vaughan,

I'm going to guess here that it is Windows and v7.

Hi Slobey,

This sounds like a file that you converted to v7 from a previous version of FileMaker.

If so, you should read the white paper available at FMI, on converting file to v7.

Thanks for your reply,

I am in fact using developer 7 on windows XP. This has happened on a number of solutions I have created. It has only happened since I got my new PC. that is why I wasn't sure if it was a windows thing or an FM Thing. But now I can't seem to import scripts either, so I think it is a windows thing.

OK,

I re installed developer and I seem to have eliminated the refresh problem, but this import script thing has me baffled. I tried importing a script from a previous version of a solution and all the scripts are grayed out. I have in the past imported scripts with the same name and the import was renamed, but now it seems that it won't let me import a script that has the same name. Is there a setting that I need to adjust?

Check the Read/Write privileges at the Finder Level (Desktop). Sometimes these get changed to Read Only on Windows.

FileMaker Tags the Imported Script with Imported to eliminate these problem. If they are Grayed out, this would mean you don't have the privilege to make changes in the file. Most like either you need to enter the password and user id (admin, admin) for those that were converted from earlier versions, or the Read/Write has been changed to Read only.
