August 31, 200520 yr Along with the rename of Developer to Advanced FMI have provided an upgrade path for users like me who are not Developers but would love to get our hands on the custom features in the Developer versions. I paid an extra £70 to have the upgrade to 8 advanced rather than 8 and I think FMI should be congratulated for following up their reasoning for a name change and making it possible to move up.
August 31, 200520 yr You need to read the Upgrade information about Advance. (and SE). You can upgrade until 12-30-2006 from several different versions of FM, including the Regular, or Standard Edition, to Advance for 299. They have included several versions in this group too. In other words, you don't have to upgrade from a Developer this time. HTH Lee Edited August 31, 200520 yr by Guest
August 31, 200520 yr Author You are absolutely right- this is a time-limited option. But when I upgraded last year from FMP3 to FMP7 that also was a good value time-limited option. So I have a warm feeling for FMI and they take plenty of stick so I thought a positive post wouldn't do any harm.
August 31, 200520 yr I bought FM7Dev with a VLA about 8 months ago, I hear that this means I will get the upgrade to 8 Advanced free, anyone verify this?
August 31, 200520 yr I agree with you. Also, the 1 year and 4 months to act on their offer seems like sufficient time, but come Jan 1, 2007 there will be some bellyachers complaining about how short of time they gave.... Can't please all of the people all of the time. I gave them a BIG Thumb's UP. Lee
September 2, 200520 yr Zero T., Yes, that's right, you should receive your copy of FMP8A shortly, assuming that you popped for maintenance on your original purchase. I just got my VLA update for my FMP7 client seats, and the included docs that said that I could expect Advanced shortly (if it was on VLA maint., which mine isn't).
