merkaba22 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I need a copy of FM Server 5.5 or an upgrader from FM Server 5 -- anybody got any leads?
Lee Smith Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Have you check with FileMaker Inc to see if you can downgrade a v7 to 5.5? Have you check Ebay to see anyone is wanting to sell a copy of it? If you find it on Ebay, be sure that you can Register it with FileMaker. HTH Lee
merkaba22 Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 Hey Thanks! I have been checking with eBay, etc. -- its almost a necessity by now and I have turned the reader of FM Forums. The DB is written in FM 6 and it was my understanding that FM 7 (in this case) would require a significant re-write or de-bugging ... FM Server 5.5 would be a very simple solution:0
DykstrL Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 What Lee was saying is that FileMaker Inc. has the option where you can purchase a license for a version 7 product and install an earlier version. I'm almost sure that they still offer that option. It would be a little more expensive, but at least you know you would be legal.
merkaba22 Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 I spoke to them the other day and they did not mention this -- i had bought a copy of FM 5 with a valid license but need 5.5 or the updater from 5>5.5 which they will not sell. Do I misunderstand here?
merkaba22 Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 I still am looking for a copy of FileMaker Server 5.5 -- anyone?
RPCia Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) This might be little comfort but I will be looking to sell ours in say 6-12 months? we also have a copy of 5 unlimited we don't use if that will work? I would have to check on the licensing issues. Edited September 12, 2005 by Guest Subscribe
merkaba22 Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 5.5 is it -- keep me in the loop:)
