Chalkster Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 I have a problem with FM8 advanced when using across platforms. In FM7 both win and mac behaved the same way... an object that was partially in the header and partially in the footer was chopped at the dividing line. It was sometimes a pain but also had its uses at times, but at least both platforms behaved in the same way. When I got FM8 the first thing I installed on the mac and immediately noticed that in browse mode the entire object was visible no cropping. I guess its my own fault but I assumed it was deliberate and redesigned my layouts taking this into account, but once I finished I ran the files on windows... and there it still works the old way so the background container field is now cropped along with other objects. Does anyone know the intention of Filemaker with this? Is the mac behaviour a bug or is it the way FM8 is supposed to work? It would be helpful to know which platform is behaving correctly so I know how what to do with the layouts.
Vaughan Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 It may depend on whether the layout is set to view as form or view as list.
Chalkster Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 No it makes no difference The layout is in form view and is the same layout and same view on both systems... it is simply a difference in the way FM8 windows displays the objects compared to FM8 mac
