We have develope a project on Filemaker pro 7 , and the project is working fine but when we used Filemaker pro 8 we are having some issues like if a form has to show say 20 records it shows only one . Can any one let us know why this is happening . Please help.Is there any changes or rules to be followed when we upgarde from Filemarker pro 7 to Filemaker pro 8?.

It sounds like the previous file had a List or Columnar View that was being used. When you import a file into v8, it does NOT import the layouts. You will have to recreate your views in v8.

The file versions for version 8 is still expressed as fp7, because FileMaker didn't change the language, they only made changes to it. This means you can open a file made in either version in the other version. The only difference being, any new features of v8, will not be seen, or be accessed in v7, so be careful to allow for this if you are going to have a mix bag of the versions..

I think what we have here is a miss communication.

I missed the fact that you had developed these file originally in v7. If this is the case, then they should be unchanged when you view them in v8. There is [color:red]no migration between v7 and v8.

They are essentially the same files EXCEPT, if you introduce one of Versions 8's new tools, such as attaching a calendar to a date field, or use the new Tab Tool, these will simply disappear when you open the files in v7.

So, your original question said that you had a layout with a list view, and now the list view only shows one record.

Is that correct?

If so, is there more than one record in the found count?
