MacConsulting Hoosier Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Can any one tell me why I can't enter Tabs in the Calculation Formula window (Mac OS X 10.4.5, FileMaker 8 Advanced). I thought Option Tab was supposed to insert a tab. I can copy one from another calculation and paste it in. I just can't enter one from the keyboard or via macro.
Lee Smith Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I've had the same problem in the past, and in all versions. I've just gotten a habit of copying a Tab from a Text Editor and pasting it in. Lee
MacConsulting Hoosier Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 I've been using Butler lately (a very useful tool) and it offers a way to store permanent clipboards and assign keystrokes to evoke them. I put a Tab in one and assigned it to Ctrl-Tab. That works well until, for whatever reason, Option-Tab is fixed. That also lead me to the idea of storing and pasting complex commands like Let and Case in a format that makes them easier to read. That saves a lot of time making things look better.
