Newbies pgmrjaf Posted June 13, 2006 Newbies Posted June 13, 2006 Is there a limit to how many files can be opened at the same time in 5.5 client?
John Mark Osborne Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 50 files is the limit for version 6 and earlier. FileMaker 7 and 8 increase this limit to a recommended 125 simultaneous open files. However, this number is greatly enhanced when you consider you can have multiple tables per file.
Lee Smith Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 to add to JMO response, the total of file sizes is limited to 3 gigabites. Lee
John Mark Osborne Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Maybe I misunderstood your response, but here are the file size limits for different versions of FileMaker: FileMaker 7 and 8 = 8 Terabytes FileMaker 3, 4, 5 and 6 = 2 Gigabytes FileMaker 2 = 32 megabytes
