We just upgraded to FM7/FM7 Server from FM5.0. I have most of the bugs worked out except that the users are complaining that all of the valu list/drop down lists are slow to pop up compaired to FM5.0. Any suggestions?

This was a known issue with 7. It was resolved in 8. You can get round it in 7 by changing to a menu from a list. Menus do not have the same problem apparently.

The number of windows open at any one time also had some bearing on the speed of the lists in 7.

Ok, don't laugh (too hard) what is a menu? Ie how do you set up a menu instead of a list?

Ok, I found it and yes it is faster but not as graphicly pleasing. Is there a way to turn off the border?

See if right clicking in layout mode and setting effects to none helps

I just checked - it doesn't help. What you can do is set the line attributes to transparent. That should do it
