We upgraded to 8.5 and are experiencing very slow response time in the editing function. Clients noticed it on the server 8, and I am able to reproduce on my desktop w/o files being shared on my local drive. Running XPSP2 :

In a database field,in browse mode. When typing the characters, they appear on the screen very slowly. We didn't seem to have these problems with the earlier versions.

Thanks for the info. I found that the font had not been selected.

I did so in Layout mode, but no change.
