jhomer Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I've been playing around with the new Get(TemporaryPath) function. Im trying to store a pdf file using the Save As PDF script step and saving it to the temporary path i assign to a variable. The file finds its way to the correct directory (YEAH!) but when I restart my PC the file still exists in the temp dir. I thought one of the benefits of using this dir was that the files were automatically deleted after a restart. Am I missing something?
jhomer Posted September 24, 2007 Author Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) UPDATE In discussing with a few colleges we have found that files that are labeled as FMTEMPFM{somefilename}.tmp will be deleted when FMP startsup (not shuts down). However it seems to me this would severely limit the usability of the file. Any additional thoughts? ****UPDATE***** And another update I just added the prefix FMTEMPFM to a .pdf file and left the file extension as .pdf I then tried to open FMP and the file was deleted....HURRAY. This is the behavior I was expecting. I guess that it looks for the FMTEMPFM prefix for cleanup. I havent seen any documentation citing this though. Edited September 24, 2007 by Guest
