Auto populate combo box

Hi all,

I'm working with php and FM database for a data entry form and here is the description of my problem:

I have two combo boxes, the first one displays a project list and the second one a sub-project list, depending on the project selected. How can I get the value selected in the combo box and put it in a php variable, without submitting the form??
