chs615 Posted November 2, 2000 Posted November 2, 2000 I share my files with co-worker. Whenever my coworker close the files, then it asks for closing, and the file I have worked on, is closed. Is there anyway to prevent asking and closing the file I work on it?

It sounds like the files are being shared on your co-workers computer and you are logging in as a client of that computer. There are two solutions to this. One, have the files on your computer and have your co-worker log in as a guest of your computer. But this just reverses the problem. When you close the files, your co-worker will be asked to log off. The other solution is to have a third computer host the files for both of you. To do this, you will need either a third copy of FileMaker or a copy of FileMaker Server. Since only two of you are sharing the files, I would suggest that an extra copy of FileMaker would be sufficient. Open the files on that computer and both of you log in as a guest of it. Whenever one of you closes the files, the other doesn't even need to know about it. Chuck
