Newbies dkrabid Posted November 6, 2000 Newbies Posted November 6, 2000 has anyone else had issues arise with databases after upgrading from FM4 to FM5? specifically, that a database won't work on the web all of a sudden, although it will still work in filemaker. i'm new to this - do i have to run Web Companion again to output new HTML (CDML?) for my web page? everything has stayed the same, except for the upgrade to FM5. thanks for any insight anyone can give.
Chuck Posted November 6, 2000 Posted November 6, 2000 Double-check that Web Companion is turned on. Go to Edit->Preferences->Application and click on the Plug-Ins tab. Make sure that there is a check-mark in the Web Companion plug-in. You may also need to check the "Configure
Vaughan Posted November 7, 2000 Posted November 7, 2000 I know what it is... During the upgrade the database filenames were changed from "xxx.fp3" to "xxx.fp5". Unfortunately all of your custom HTML format files have -db=xxx.fp3 hard coded into their forms and links... you'll have to edit all the format pages. I did too. Some good news: FMP5 Web Companion will work without the extension. So when you edit the html format pages don't type "xxx.fp5" just enter "xxx".
