Can Outlook Express 5.02 be used to send e-mail from Filemaker? If so how is it configured so that FileMaker can uase it.

You need to:

1) Use the Open URL script step. You need to compile an email URL that looks like this: "mailto:[email protected]?subject=Hello?body=body text"

You can do this with separate fields for each of the items and then put them all together in a calculation field and pass that to the Open URL script step.

2) Have Outlook Express set up as the default email program on your computer. If when you click an email URL in a web browser you get a new email message in Outlook, then it already is your default email program.
