axletramp Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Not sure if this is a PC or FileMaker issue. I'm hoping it's something simple that someone can give me advice on. Our database is served from a Mac Xserve to two offices, one of which is Mac only, the other is a mix of Macs and PCs. Everything is fine except that whenever one of the PC users wishes to type a '£' symbol into a field they get a '#'. All the Mac users are fine. This happens whether they use alt-3 or shift-3. It gives the same result as when you attach a PC keyboard to a Mac - but they're attached to PCs! It's odd that all the PC's are behaving the same way and only in FM9. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or can anyone confirm for me whether this is a FileMaker issue? Thanks.
axletramp Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 I've used Arial throughout the database to guarantee cross-platform consistency - or so I thought! This has been the only issue.
axletramp Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 Yes it is, but I believe one of the PC users in our other office has found the solution and it wasn't (as I suspected) a FM9 issue. Apparently you need to press alt gr-3 not alt-3. Thanks anyway.
