Has anyone install FM 8.5 on Eeepc with operation system linux? I have installed it using Wine as a DOS emulator. But, I cannot find the exe to run it. Thanks, gkenney

Are you looking for the filemaker.exe or the install.exe?

On the Eee there is no cd-rom I suppose. Put the files from the FMP-install-cd-rom on a USB-stick. This will pay off anyway, because you will get rid of some boring problems with permissions. During Install.

Dobbelclicking on the file Install.exe doent necessarily going to work; your system might understand the .exe-file as a compressed file. Use "open with".

During installation, wich seems to be exactly the same as in Windows, be sure to allow an alias to be created on you desktop, so that you will be able to find it after the installation is complete.

Dobbel-clicking on a FMP-file might not start FMP. So you have to know, where your FMP is located, if you dont have the alias around.

It should be located in some Wine-directory under your Home-something.
