Sum fields with break field in related file

I have a sum field that when printed on the report, it is in a break field based on a related file.

This works fine, however, I want to be able to calculate using two sum fields based on this break field.

When I set the part to break using a break field in the current file, all works well.

When I change all the settings back and sort according to the break field from the related file, the sums work but the

GetSummary(sumfield, related sort) doesn't show any results.

Is there a limit on the break field from GETSUmmary() that causes this not to work?

As I said, getsummary() seems to work fine if the break field is based on a field in the current file but not a related file.

Any ideas?
