Restricting access to a single record

I am a new user to both Macs and FM. I am working on a project that I need to be able to restrict a user's access to a single record within a database. I was wondering if this was possible using Filemaker, and if so how I would go about doing this.

Thanks,

Chris

It is possible, but you would do it by controlling with passwords what menu items they can choose and with scripts where they can go and do.

For instance, with passwords, you can make it so that there are no available menu items (so the user can't create new records or enter find mode). With scripts, you can control such items as the status area (the bar on the left where the user can navigate from one record to another).
