Is it possible to have one part of one layout in table view and another part of the same layout, such as the footer, in table view?

If so: how is this done?

The footer might have been a bad example here, because records don't disply in footers or headers (though you can display field information it's only form the first record in the current found set).

I've made a layout with the body in three columns, and formatted the header to *look* like it's in three columns too. In fact it's not, it's just text arranged to look like it's in three columns.
