February 20, 200124 yr Newbies When I run my application on a windows NT 4.0 machine, no problem. Run it on my desktop running Win 95 or Windows ME and I crash to desktop with the following error. MSVCRT.DLL error. Does anyone know if this is a division by zero error or have experience with this problem? Help?
February 20, 200124 yr Could be a problem with the dll. Check the date of the Mscrvt.dll in the WindowsSystem folder. I run FM 5 satisfactorily on Windows 95 and the date of my Mscrvt.dll is 29/6/99. If yours is earlier then I should get the later version.
February 20, 200124 yr Author Newbies This is a serious error on Filemaker Incs part. Sloppy coding. I went back to my NT4 machine and reset some of the fields in my app to have values from the start, and it worked fine after porting across to WinMe. I still believe it is a division by zero thing within Filemaker. My app is calculation loaded with engineering calcs. Be careful when programming calced values and if at all possible try to make sure any division type calc will not attempt a division by zero in repeating fields. I will continue this testing on the varius win platforms.
