PLEASE forgive this newbie post, but I'm not used to FileMaker 5's method of managing privileges AT ALL - I've never needed to use it before now. I've thoroughly checked out FM's help section, the online FAQ, and several of these forums, and haven't found any mention of the seemingly odd problem I'm having, and I SWEAR I followed the instructions "by the book".

My situation is VERY simple:

Group 1 (or Password 1) needs full read/write access

Group 2 (or Password 2) needs everything BUT write access

I've set up two passwords:

Admin - has "Access the entire file" checked

Users - has "Browse Records", "Print Records", "Export Records", "Override data entry warnings", "Design Layouts", "Edit Scripts", and "Define Value Lists" checked

All "Users" will connect to the database via their web browser, so there's really no need for several of the above privileges, but I've left them checked anyways.

That SEEMS like it should work, but when I login to the database with "user" as the password, ALL record fields are EMPTY (with an "Access Denied" displayed on the server). Logging in as with "admin" works just as it should, allowing full functionality such as viewing, creating and editing of records.

Any ideas about what I haven't done correctly? TIA!!!
