I've selected "auto-enter modifier name" for one of my fields. When a record is modified, some user's names are entered in the field, other's computer addresses. I'd like everyone's name to appear, but don't know where Filemaker finds the Modifier's name.

The database is on a network, but Filemaker isn't showing the network log-in names in the Modifier field.

Comments appreciated.

Go to Edit->Preferences->Application. There you'll find the settings for the user name. The user name can come from the system or can be custom entered. On Macs, if the name comes from the system, it comes from either the File Sharing or Sharing Setup control panels (depending on which version of the Mac OS you are using). I'm sure that it comes from somewhere similar on Windows. Regardless, you can set it to whatever you want on each computer by clicking the "Custom:" radio button and entering a name.
