LaRetta Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It has been correct 18 out of 19 times so far. :shocked2:
comment Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Uh-oh. It should be 100% accurate. I haven't tested it very thoroughly, though. Let's hope it was a user error, incorrectly subtracting the digits? :joust:
LaRetta Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I am CONVINCED that, if it doesn't work, it is most certainly User error! There is no way this can fail. I'd even bet money on it. :laugh2:
comment Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 I KNEW you were going to say that. But we discourage gambling. Drink instead.
mr_vodka Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Now that was fun. Just what I needed a good laugh. ;)
Osman Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 nice game based on some mathematics. thanks for sharing
Vaughan Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I bet this uses the same algorithm developed for the US voting machines.
stefangs Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 oh god, i finally got it! man, this is fabulous!!
Charity Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 This takes the cake. And then you all understand it but me. It is rather spooky. Can someone share the secret so I can laugh too? By the way, it works even if I do not concentrate on the blender or TV or whatever because I focused on a football game and it still worked so I know it is trick somewhere. But where? How do I find it? Is it hidden script trigger? :Ask:
Raybaudi Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 The result of the subtraction is ALWAYS a multiple of 9 ( from 9 to 81 )! ... and the item name of the multiples is ALWAYS the same.
comment Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 I focused on a football game and it still worked That's another game, I think...
Charity Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Thank you for helping, Raybaudi, I saw the 9 and I thought it might be important but I did not understand. Now I do! I had to break that calc apart like a child might do. Comment, you are some trickster. 'write it down and don't say it out loud and visualize' and stuff... you had me going good. Now this is fun stuff. Much better than hangin' on Facebook or Myspace or even hangin' at the mall.
Ocean West Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I created this file to illustrate the Monty Hall Problem... Game show 3 doors, behind one door is a Brand New Car, behind the other two is a goat. You make your choice - then the host reveals one of the other doors that is the GOAT. you can decide to stay or switch. Mythbusters did a elaborate episode on this - great for tv but the process could have been done with out resorting to a physical models and props. Monty Hall.fp7.zip 2
comment Posted December 12, 2011 Author Posted December 12, 2011 I think that with the chosen rules (1 x car, 2 x goat), 6 records should be enough to prove the point, no?
LaRetta Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Well it is time Comment's Psychic and Stephen's Monty Hall be brought back to the front so here is another one ... Psychic2. And in this one, you don't even have to visualize anything. It isn't as cool as Michael's file but I enjoyed creating it nonetheless. Psychic2.fp7.zip 1
Charity Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 You are right that it is not as good but I still liked it. One thing, Ocean West, can you explain your Monty Python to me? I do not get it. I am sorry but I keep looking at the records over and over and still do not understand it. Thank you Comment, LaRetta and Ocean West for the fun examples. I have decided to make a tick-tack-toe game for fun. Wish me luck. Also does anyone know when 14 will be out? I am saving my money.
Charity Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I mean Monty Hall. Is Monty the name of a person? I found it. It is the name of a puzzle. Here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Hall_problem
