We have a FMPro database (v5.0) and want to drap & drop Microsoft Word documents (icons) into a FMPro text field. Ideally, this action would immediately convert the document to FM and paste it in an open format into the field. I tried dropping the Word doc icon onto the FM icon, which launches FM... but then delivers an error message of "not enough memory". This happens even if no other applications are running and I dedicated 60mb of RAM to the application.

Any suggestions? Is there a text converter or apple script I need?

You can do this with Excel, but not with Word. 60 MB is more application memory that FMP can use. You could OLE the word document into a container field. Or you can take the first 64,000 characters of it and insert it into a text field.
